Hi there,

I moved my forum from brinkster to my own domain but when i try to set up my Snitz portal , it tries accessing resources from the old files in brinkster. !!!

can anyone help me out plz ? Richard told me to press Ctrl + F5 but that did not work !.

my new test forum is on

http://www.desihome.org/testforum

admin's login and password is admin .

Now when u go to http://www.desihome.org/Resources.asp and try to add or validate resources, it access my brinkster account and gives error. I wonder what is the problem ? and why doesn't it pick up the code inside desihome.org ??

plz help me out,

thanx,

P.S.: my desihome.org has two forums, one is in /forum and one is in /testforum . this problem is related to both but for now i am testing on /testforum only. Trying www.desihome.org will take you to my /forum and not /testforum. so for that you will hafta type www.desihome.org/testforum . !! thanx

Are you using the same database that you used on Brinkster?

If so, check the URLs that you entered in Admin Options --> Main Forum Configuration

If any of them point to Brinkster, just change them to the new URL.

Well, have you checked the Resources.asp file and see if the links are hard coded? Just do a search for "brinkster" in the file.
If you don't find any, look and see how the urls are constructed, if it is taking it from the database or what.

The links are not hardcoded on the Resources.asp file on the server. Over there it shows this -->> <a href="javascript: openWindow3('<%=strForumURL%>include/ShowBadLinks.asp')">R e v i e w  B a d   R e s o u r c e s</a> (<%=BadLinks%>) ( just one as an example, but all 4 of those links are picking up URL's from brinkster. ) .

So that shows this code but I wonder where can i go and fix this piece of '<%=strForumURL%>include/ShowBadLinks.asp' that is responsible for showing errors by going back to my old account. ( ofcourse the files are not found over there and that is the error ).

help me catch the source of error please.

*am i the only one who moved forums to a diff. host* ?

Check the connection string.

strConnString = "Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Data Source=D:\websites\gnxonline\desihome.org\desihome.org\db\snitzforums2000.mdb;" '## MS Access 2000

this connection string is perfectly alright and its not the database.. its the links !!

its this thing that is not properly configured ------ >>> <%=strForumURL%>

yeah its pretty fine now.. but all the credit goes to Richard Kinser . thanx dude. ... he put a file called whereami.asp and that solved the problem.

now there is this problem with snitz portal which i think i should put in mod implementation forum or on the tshives .. but here it is

when u try to view your own profile it gives an error. so even admin cannot change their password !! . if u view others' profile, the screen is all distorted. !! lemme put this on other forum.
