Hi.
I am currently assessing forum products with particular requirements in mind. I have been very impressed with what I’ve seen in Snitz, but unfortunately the current release does not meet all of the requirements. The ideal situation for me would be that the new release of Snitz would become available in the next few weeks. From what I’ve seen there are no definite dates for this, so I’m stuck.
Does anyone know of other forum products, commercial or otherwise, which would meet all of the following criteria?
- Full/strong/queuing moderation - Auto-login using NT credentials (currently available in Snitz, although I haven’t managed to get it fully working) - Preferrably ASP - Search capabilities, perticularly searching for a specific members contributions. - “hits” information for each thread. - widely used
Failing that, can anyone help find other candidates that meet most of these requirements (Snitz being one). I have found it quite difficult performing searches on the web etc, trying to find what forum products are available, and even harder to establish exactly what their capabilities are. (I’ve looked at places like 4guysfromrolla etc, and Snitz seems the best on offer from those lists)
As I say I’m really impressed with Snitz, and if it weren’t for these burning requirements, I would snap it up.
Thanks for any help / advice.

the next step, i would guess would be Infopop's UBB. But you have to pay for that. I had the same issue a few weeks ago when I was trying to decide with which Forum to go with. In the end I realized that Snitz was the best solution due to the fact that there are so many members in its community that want to spruce it up with their MODs. So there will always be some cool little gadget you can add to your site.
Eventhough you asked for another ASP forum, i have no clue, UBB is cgi run and it took me a while to figure out how to work it. Snitz's solution was easy as cake [ **** i sound like some sort of commerical ]. Either way, I think you should bite the bullet and go with Snitz. I am sure some of your requirements can be found with a MOD that is easy to install.

There is a link off the home page here with competitor information. It will give you an idea of some of the products out there. Use the Home link in the upper right of the screen.
