Everything was running quite smoothly on my test forum. Suddenly for some reason, anyone accessing my forum began getting a username, password when they access the default.asp page. Any ideas why this is happening? Please help.
What exactly do you mean? if they've already signed in and have been on the boards and return to the default page they have to enter the username and pass again? sorry, I'm just not clear on what's actually happening.
ahhhh, I see what you mean. on http://www.newfrontsoftware.com/forum they're prompted for a network password. that's something that was setup by the server admin...whoever that is. They just password-protected the "forum/" directory.
The site is hosted at an ISP yet I can administer the directory to the server myself. So do I just change the access level on that directory to what ....read/write/execute?
What I do not understand is the ISP went and did it without asking me?
