I´ve noticed that some of the free services that I have testforums, I can download the database directly from the browser. Is there anyway to secure them, so this is not possible?

I am wondering the exact same thing! We need to secure our database before going live. We are using Access 2000 on Windows NT 4.0 Server. Please let me know if you get a reply to this or email me with a reply.

If you are using a frontpage web you can, with a little fiddling, stick the db in your _private folder. It can't be read from there. The problem may be setting proper permissions for r/w to the database once you get it there.

I've only done this in a test setup, I don't know if there are any other implications of moving the db there, but it sure keeps it from being downloaded.

It is possible to password protect your database. Then, it wouldn't matter if it was downloaded.
