Suddenly i cannot not logout of my snitzforum. When i hit the logout-button it say i logget out successfullt but i return to the forum i'm still logget in.
It has not been a problem before, so what has caused the problem?
Shall I delete a cookie? Whats the name?

Yes, try to delete the cookie. The name's Cookie:you@forum.snitz.com/
This should fix it.

Delete the cookies on your computer
I had the same problem, it's a glitch i think with internet explorer that pops up every once and while, but if you just clear your cookies (in your temporary internet files directory) and then log back in, you'll be fine
If you want just like a specific named cookie, look for a cookie named something to the effect of username@domain.com where username is the username you've used to log onto your computer, and domain.com is the domain the forum's listed on i.e. mine for snitz is bpedersen@forum.snitz.com

I deleted my temp. internet files, close IE, and opened it up. Still couldn't logout. When I set the cookies to forum, it works, though. Why does Snitz recommend website as the setting for the cookies?

The problem is introduced when you change the setting of the cookies. The forum setting is the default setting and means you can have multiple forums on a site without a problem, most people don't need the website setting. If you want to have a logon page that works for all pages of a site (like you see used here at the site), then you need the website setting.

You can also overcome this problem by unchecking the save password checkbox while logging on.

Strange. When I installed Snitz with the Access database I had no trouble logging out, using the Website setting for cookies. When un-installed and re-installed using SQL Server and Website for cookies I cannot logout at all. Even if I close the browser. I can't see that this is a problem with IE since I have other homegrown web apps that use cookies with ASP to maintain state and they do not have this problem. Obviously we're not doing exactly the same thing, but the concept is the same. I'm using the zip Snitz_Forums_2000_v3_1_SR4.zip

If you're by chance running IE 6, go into your internet options, go to the privacy tab, and change the setting to low
We've been having this problem pop up quite a bit lately, and i'm also begining to think that this problem only occurs if you have the cookies set to web, because i've never had any problems with the cookies being set to forum.

I'm using IE 5.5. Looking back I think the cookie setting being changed is probably the culprit. Since I had initially installed the app with the Access db and re-installed using SQL, the original cookie setting would have changed between installations. I'm running Win2k, however, so I had to delete the cookies not only in the cookies folder, but in the Temp Internet Files folder as well. Actually deleting the cookies in the Cookies folder had no effect whatever.
