Hi,

I know this is offtopic but I like to know if somebody encountered the same problem with hotmail accounts as I do.

Sending notifications to somebody with an ISP email account works fine. but as soon as somebody uses a hotmail account the JMAIL component present a confusing error like "message wasn't delivered, please go back and check". Many users go back and try it again and again and again, and they post the same message 5 times. In fact there is no problem with the forum or its message but with the notification to the hotmail account.

I used in my email setup the same SMTP server as I use for my outlook wich is MAIL-OUT.PANDORA.BE sending mails from outlook to hotmail is no problem but when I am sending it through JMAIL it becomes a problem ??

any ideas ?

It's probably giving you an error because of the outgoing (from) email address that is being used by the forum.

thanx for the answer

My email provider mail-out.pandora.be
My administrator email tonino.bruno@pandora.be

so the "from" is a valid email adress comming from pandora.be. I think the problem is on the webserver. It communicates with it's IP to the mail-out.pandora.be server and asks to send a mail to a hotmail account. Maybe mail-out.pandora.be considers this as a RELAY request because it isn't comming from a pandora.be account. And for the relaying certain rules will probably apply such as sending mails off to hotmail accounts

could it be ?
