This message is from a user on the ElectricalKnowledge.com forum.

I have spent the last hour writing a researched answer to e-star's last question, and when I went to submit it, to site reminded me that I'd forgotten to log-on. I didn't think to save my reply and it was lost I think. Do I have to start over?

If we can not code the forum to not let a user fill in a post box if he is not signed in, then can we document a warning some how? We can not just tell them to use the back button. That is not dependable.<

Yeah, that would be nice.<

Write a quicky liite JS function to not allow submittal if the user or pass fields are blank when not logged in.<

I've had that happen with other forum software also. I've gotten into the habit of copying any reply more than a paragraph to my clipbord before hitting submit on any forum. Keeps my frustration level low.

There is a warning and there is a place to login before you post, above the post box.

What for some is flexibility, for others is a problem... There is no silver bullet.<
