Hi

Is there anyone out there who actually knows how to use this properly and to get it to work, because I am having a few problems.

Thanks very much!

General problems really, such as
*How do I put the whole thing on the server- do files have to go in separate directories or do they all go in one place?
*Do I need any special software to use this?
*Do I need to change anything?

Thanks

Firstly you will need an account with a host who supports ASP, this would generally mean a windows server.

All the files should be copied to the same directory, with the exception of the database, this should be copied to a directory with read/write and modify permissions (usually setup by your host)

Then you just need to edit the config.asp file to set the path of your DB, and hey presto.

If you require help for a specific Host or server, there are many people here who can supply any relevant info.

Active Server Pages can't run by default on a Unix system, without additional software that yoour system administrator woul dhave to buy. Chili!Soft is the program that is needed to run ASP pages on a Unix system.

Would I therefore be looking at the Linux version, as I can't see Unix there

Also If I were to get it, what do I then do with it?

Also what is the difference between the version which you have to purchase and the one you can download?
