Does anyone know of robberies or embezzlement of an oil company in France that happened in 2000 or 2001? I heard a story about someone hiding here in the Philippines who supposedly stole millions of dollars from a French company. If we can identify the company, I'll provide them the guy's name and current location.

Total Fina was renamed to simply "Total", which still exists in France as one of the six largest oil companies in the world. But since Elf was a state-owned (belonged to the government of France) company, the money rightfully belongs to the country. They may be interested in recovering 400 million.
