I'm really new at this so if this is a dumb question I apologize:

Is there a way for an email to be sent when someone replies to your post/reply?
Thx

Its called "Subscriptions". Search for that term and you will find a ton of posts about them - for and against their use. (For the record, I stand in the "if you must, use sparingly" crowd - I think RSS is a much better way to go, but that's just me)

There's also a tutorial floating around that shows you step-by-step instructions on enabling subscriptions in your forum. smile<

Bear in mind, that if your forum is even remotely busy, you could end up crippling your mail server with the amount of subscription mails that would be sent out. Best, as Anon said, to use them only where you absolutely must - for example, here, you can only subscribe to topics in the security announcements forum.

Thanks guys! But if I turn on Board Subscription in the admin options the Subscribe link shows up at the Board and Forum level but not in Topic. Any other level that I select in admin options and the Subscribe links go away. I really just want it at the Topic level. At this point we are a fairly closed forum and will only have 30 or so members but I also saw the mod for limiting subscription emails. I've already installed a couple of mods (polls, security) and they appear to be working fine so I may install the email limit mod. Again, thanks for the responses!

These days I've considered a move. There's a part of me that would love to go to (in no particular order) Ireland, England, or Australia - but that's another topic for another time. wink<

I'd give us a miss, we're officially in a recession sad And this place is a hole, anyway. England's full of English tongue so that leaves Australia as your only option! wink

We're trying to get out of England lol

England's no longer English, it's being tamed and pampered for every ethnicity that want to migrate to these overcrowded shores and the PC Police will chastise anyone who dare speak out lol<
