Can anyone recomend......

Can anyone recomend a good webpage design software? I have been using Coffee Cup's software and I'm not that impressed. I would like to use Dreamweaver but it's so darn expensive. I would really like a GOOD, RELIABLE, CHEAP software.....if such a one exists.....cool<

Instead of upgrading my aging copy of Dreamweaver MX (which has been crashing and locking up more and more frequently these days), I've switched to Notepad ++. I don't like the integrated FTP client, but I can live with using a separate FTP program again.<

I have been using UltraEdit since coming to my new job back in November, and it is *wonderful*. Code folding, syntax highlighting, tons of features, built in FTP, etc.
I used to use Notepad++ and Araneae, and still use them from time to time, but sprung for a license of UE for myself after getting hooked.
They have a 45 day trial to test it out and get addicted. tongue I think the licenses are relatively cheap (<$50).<

What's really made Notepad ++ a sell for me is I can keep a porable version on my flash drive - allowing me to essentially take my dev environment with me to any Windows-based PC. bigsmile<

Deleting the DW cache file cures a ton of crashing issues.<

when I need WYSIWYG, I recommend Microsoft Expression Web, however, I also recommend UltraEdit for coding for sure... It's top-class tool.<

You know sometimes you get lazy :p

Seriously, I often design overall concept on my WYSIWYG editors, such as forum layout and such. Then port them appropiately to applications. I tell you Expression Web is great for CSS 2.1

Expression Web is a good product.
But now, Expression Web 2.0 is available on Amazon.com and is promised to ship June 19th. Overview:
