I'm looking for some type of method to log visitors. It only needs to tell me the user name, date & time of login. A non member should show as "guest" or something of that nature.
Any other features (such as page logging, etc) would be welcome bells and whistles, but not necessary.
A log by IP address only is not helpful for what I want.

You can extract that information from the active users mod which you'll find easily with a search. Another quick search should yield a couple of discussions on the changes that need to be made to accomplish what you want.
