Active Users 4.0.20 released
23 February 2006, 19:27
There is now a new version of Active Users 4.0 available from ls3k, http://www.ls3k.com/snitz/Active%20Users%2040_20.zip.
This is the latest version with all known bug-fixes available and a new language pack included, Catalan (1027) which was translated by Lluís Moran.
The download link is also available in Nathan's profile and from my signature and my profile (under Latest News).
The version got changed to 20, because of the changes in the readme (which still says 19, but I will if/when the next update to the mod is done).<

Nice work masterao. Any hope of a list of bug fixes that were implemented?<

I'd be interested in a list of fixed bugs as well, need to determine if I'll reinstall it. <

The bug-fixes included should be all that has been reported, although the only one that I mentioned specifically in the readme is the extra call for inc_func_common.asp. Im away visiting a friend this weekend, but I can do a list of included bug-fixes next week as there should be such a list. Im not sure if the current version is the correct current version, as the readme isn't updated. I have to check that I sent the right file to Nathan when I get home.<

I'll wait for the list of bugs you fixed.
FYI, the link for the mod is not in your profile and the old link is in Nathan's profile. <

Davio, the link is in my profile in the Latest News section, below the Snitz Rank image: Active Users latest version.
Gizmo3, please post in the Help: MOD Implementation forum. Go through the readme again and make sure that you have done all the changes necessary. If you still don't find anything, post in the Help: MOD Implementation forum and I'll take a look.
Just so everyone is sure, I seem to have mailed the wrong zip-file to Nathan, as the latest version does not contain the correct readme. <

so how do we get the correct readme file<

27 February 2006, 16:53
It will be made available from the correct file when Nathan updates the zip-file, but you don't have to wait as Im also posting it below .
Modified 2-05-2006 - Jan Enroth -- Removed extra include of inc_func_common.asp and added lang-file 1027 (Catalan).
AFAIK, all other reported bugs and bug-fixes are inlcuded. I haven't gone through the old posts to list all reported bugs and their bug-fixes, but I plan on doing so eventually (when time permits). If something have been missed, please let me know and I will correct it.<

Im not sure if Nathan got my email or if he is very busy. Until he has had time to update the file at ls3k.com Im hosting it on my private page.
The temporary alternate download link is link removed and will also be located in my profile under Latest News and in my signature. I will remove it when Nathan has updated the file. The latest version of the file is now available in Nathan's profile (within shortly), my profile and in my signature.<

I know. Nathan upped the version to 20, which I missed in the latest readme. However, that is the latest version with all reported bug-fixes.<

I can't DL this mod with IE or Firefox.
Has the file moved?
One note too, it is best to NEVER us a space in a file name.

Seems to be a server issue since I can't get to other pages as well. Have you tried contacting him via the forum's e-mail?

I found the 4.0.17 zip I used to install on another 3.4.05 web site and it runs perfect, thanks anyway.
Actually, I have modded that mod...
I added who's been on in the last 24 hours, and display who's on now in the top banner.
I'm pretty sure I shared that mod here.
That and many others comes in the snitz forums template I include with my Windows 2003 Hosting service. It's a pretty good deal, only $3.50 a month, Check It Out.

I had that mod in my collection. Put it on SnitzBitz since it's not available via the author any longer.

I installed this mod, and now I can't access the admin panel at admin_home.asp
I am getting an Error 500 Internal Server Error. Everything else seems to be ok, but when I log in to activate this mod, I can't get to the ADMIN panel. Any suggestions, Please? This really puts me in a pickle. I tried to roll back and the forum just crashes. So it appears I can only move forward. Thanks Everyone.

Turn off your "Show Friendly HTML Messgaes" in your browser, it would let you know where things have gone wrong.

You probably coded the change to "admin_home.asp" incorrectly. Check your work.

Can someone look at this page - [link removed as Snitz Copyright removed at site] - and help me figure out why the top messages part causes the page to error with:
Code:
Microsoft VBScript runtime error '800a000d'
Type mismatch
/inc_topMessages.asp, line 132
We recently converted from Access to MySQL and it worked fine while using Access. I've lost the original download of this mod so I no longer have the install instructions in case there was something to configure based on the database you are using.
Thank you!

You need to post a link to a copy of the file in .txt format for us to look at.

You can do it either way ...

ElseIf (instr(ua, "MSIE 8")) Then ... or remove the first ( ...

ElseIf (instr(ua, "MSIE 8") Then ... to ...

Argh!
Well, I am fiddling with another stats thing called MetaTraffic by Metasun. It was released a few years ago with the license of "do whatever you want with it". I originally found the pre-release beta version here on Snitz as a MOD. Then it went commercial. Later, according to the author and copyright holder, it went defunct and was "permanently mothballed". I am playing with an older version. The newer version seems to be a .exe file, but that may just be what folks have done to it after the shelving of it. The problem is, it is slow, but it's fun to fiddle with it. If I can get it to working sort of decent, I may release it as a MOD here on Snitz. It sort of does what active users does except it wasn't made to be integrated with Snitz, so the integration of the MemberID stuff isn't in it. It is just a standalone MOD with an include file going to the product's files.
Etymon
19 October 2020, 15:14
Well, I went through every version of MetaTraffic that I could find. Each version got progressively slower, but each version's admin interface got better. I won't release it as a MOD as far as I can tell.

As an update on this thread for others who may be following it, the code for volkerc is throwing an error at ...
bolAULocal= chkAUPermissions(strAULocal) ... in the active_users.asp file.
When he commented (with an apostrophe) that line like below (look for the red apostrophe) ...
'bolAULocal= chkAUPermissions(strAULocal) ... it resolved his issue ...
... though he also lost that particular functionality.

What is now missing in active users is the page not shown now what the visitors are looking at.

When I check the mod it drops the files/tables? Then works for a while then it throws this error in a log file: GET /forum/active_users.asp |627|80040e14|[MySQL][ODBC_3.51_Driver][mysqld-5.5.51-38.1-log]Unknown_column_'eply'_in_'where_clause' HTTP/1.1
When I set last page in admin options only for admins then active users works for all members but of course does not show the last page, while admin gets the 500 Error. I have no idea what eply could be.

I'm not familier with the mod I'm afraid so can't help. you could try searching for == in any of the AU asp files

In 3407Topic.asp i found "fnum==" so that does not belong there?:
They are nothing to do with active users mod so don't change them
