Woo, great, thank you! smile
You might want to fix this on http://forum.snitz.com/specs.asp :

Richard, I see the forum here has already been upgraded to 3.4.05 but Bug #5 is not fixed.
The "a" needs to be replaced with "an" because it precedes a word that starts with a vowel.
bigsmile Thanks for all your hard work!!! (and the rest of the dev team)<

since Bug #5 isn't a bug, I don't think it really matters.<

I didn't actually replace the files here on this forum yet. There are some files that have been edited and I didn't want to overwrite them. All I did on this forum is update the version # in the database, all of the security related bug-fixes had already been applied. I will eventually update the files here on this forum to the newest versions though (except for the ones that had been edited otherwise).<

This problem actually happens each time we update the version # of the forum. The value is taken from the Application Variable, but since that page is outside of the forum directory, there are actually 2 sets of Application Variables. For now I have just hard-coded the correct version, it will usually fix itself in a day or two.<

You could Edit/Change/Create a global.asa file which will force IIS to restart the website hence dumping the old App variables and refreshing them.<
RichardKinser
29 September 2004, 19:34

I've done that before, but I don't really like to do it. Last time I did that, the site didn't work for about 20 minutes.blush<

Good point, it does on occasion not work as it should, which can be really frustrating.<

Thanks for the upgrade.
I had not applied many mods at the time of the last upgrade so just re-applied my required mods to the new snitz code.
However this time i have installed many mods over the last few months. Is it possible to detail what changes have been made, to the files in the snitz code that have been upgraded?
Out of the 30 files included in the upgrade, 21 i can just upload, but 9 have been moded to varying levels of complexity.
Cheers, Jensen<

Jensen,

Download a copy of beyondcompare from http://scootersoftware.com, it is an invaluable tool when it comes to comparing changes in files, it will enable you to make the required changes to your code.<

You're going to need to reapply your mods because the upgrade is the base code.
Thanks to the snitz devs for the update.<

Hi,
This is my first post. I installed Snitz for a non-profit agency (hearingloss.org) about a year ago and have been happy with it. Many kudos to the development team! My question is: can we use the upgrade download to upgrade from 3.4.03 to 3.4.05 or do we need to do the entire load? Also, we have had problems (I think with XP SP2 and Norton security software). I saw some fixes available. Are these in the .05 version?
Thanks,
Nathan<

if you are going from v3.4.03 to v3.4.05 then you'll need to do the entire thing.
No, the "referrer" MOD is not included. If you need that, you'll need to install it after upgrading.<

Thanks a lot for this new release. I just would like to know, as marcelgoertz asked, if we need to change any files if we already applied all the fixes to the 3.4.04.
Thanks.<

You can manually add the changes and bug fixes yourself, that Richard posted in his first post. If you do that, then there is no need change anything.
So the answer is no, Gato.<

How does one change the version information after applying these changes to an existing 3.4.04 forum?<
RichardKinser
02 October 2004, 12:25

goto your Admin Options and then click on "Check Installation" (or just run setup.asp) It should prompt you to upgrade.<
Davio
02 October 2004, 15:02

You can take the setup.asp file and overwrite your existing one, then run the setup.asp, which will upgrade the version. Unless you already made the changes to setup.asp.<

I am new to this forum. I have searched for the answer but was not able to find an answer. I have Version 3.4.05 installed and running.
Question: Is there a list of Mods that are compatable with 3.4.05?
Many thanks in advance. bill in tulsa<

All MODs designed for Snitz v3.4.xx (.01-.04) should work with Snitz v3.4.05 without any problems. The line numbers in the MODs' installation instructions may not be exact, but other than that, there shouldn't be any problems.<

Put your mouse over the "Powered by..." logo on the bottom right of your forum. It should include the version number.<

No, the upgrade version only includes changes from 3.4.04 to 3.4.05.<

Is it still possible to find a link to upgrade from version 3.4.03 to 3.4.04?
Just so I can upgrade 3.4.04 to 3.4.05.
First time posing a question on the Forum. And on a learning curve, at the same time.<

I installed this version and one security BUG come up. First I made a logion/logout as a ADMIN user. Then registered one common forum user and made a login with that user. Testing security I saw that i can go directly to same admin pages without submiting admin username and password!!! I made this steps on the same computer locally. HOPE THIS WILL HELP.<

It's NOT a security bug, you need to close your browser to clear the Admin login to the Admin pages. It eventually times out if you do leave the browser open, usually around 20 minutes or so.<
Shaggy
07 February 2005, 10:02

Shouldn't that be cleared when the admin logs out thanks to the Session.Abandon call in the ClearCookies function?
Preky, make sure you have Secure Admin Mode turned on in feature configuration; if it's off then anyone can access your admin section.

Any new versions on the way that we should know about? Will the next version release have the 'Avatar' MOD already built in as well as the one that lets you know who is online at any given time???<

Next version should be the international version. Don't really have an update on that. Then we should start including mods into the next version after that.<

Hi Richard!
First of all: Thanks for the great work!!!
If you are interested: I have done a complete translation of the Image Forum Skin 3d. It should be compatible with snitz 3.405...
If you are interested in the language file, just let me know! (Please do it via e-mail: viper@btronic.de)

I could also give a little help for the future regarding german translations, if you like.
