Hi,

I not sure what's wrong. When trying to publish my web from my host suplier to my localhost (in my own computor) after a while I recieve this info:

=========
There was no webserver at localhost at gate 80. Please - check that the name and proxy configuration are correct. I you are sure that the configuration is correct then the webserver temporarely are out of order (or something like that in English - my comment)
========

Can anyone help me please?
Cheers / Tomas

First, make sure your webserver is running at all. If you are sure (maybe with the Internet Information Services tool, if you use IIS) then you need to check that your webserver is configured to use port 80.

If you are using IIS, open the Internet Information Services tool, choose properties, click Web Site tab and verify that the TCP port text box has the value 80. If it hasn't either you change it to 80 or when trying to open your site in localhost, do it like this:

http://localhost:YourPortValue, where YourPortValue is the value in the TCP port text box.
I would say changing the port to 80 would be the easiest option...

Hi ruirib!
I have already done what you suggested.

and that didn't help me. (I use the Swedish version of Win, FP and so on)

My configuration is:
W2k SP2
IIS5.0
FrontPage 2000 Pro

This image show the authentic config

The problem accored after changing from Fat32 to NTFS.
Could it bee that their is a authentic problem???

does the IUSR_XXXXX account have access to your web directories ?
When do you get theis error, it is not one I reconise, IIS would normally just say 'No website configured at this address' it does not normally mention a port number in its error

Tomas,

Check the security settings for your web root folder, with Windows Explorer. Make sure you have at least Read permissions for the anonymous Internet user (usually a user with a name like IUSR_YOURCOMPUTERNAME) for that root web folder.

tomasalsbro

In the second image in your previous post, the one showing the usernam/password. The checkbox beneath should be checked otherwise it will not authenticate, this option is 'Allow IIS to control passwords' it should be checked unless you are using a specific NT account

Hi friends,

I have removed and reinstalled IIS and FP server adds. When I shall configure the server adds - how do I configure that?
Shall I configure with local groups or...? It states that it helps me configure local windows groups as I can choose how are Aministrator and so on.

Unless you absolutely require FP extensions, then don't bother installing them.

Well - I suppose I need them in order to run tests before uploading to my webhost?
