ok - this is strange...
i am using aspupload - and clients are uploading pdfs and zip files...
recently a customer uploaded a zip and a pdf together (two attachments) and both files download as htm files
(they are stored on the server with the correct ext. and i can open them ok from the server) so it has something to do with the retrieval...
any ideas - it doesn't happen all the time - which makes it weird.
thanks

yes.. it won't open on another computer either...
but the file says its a zip or a pdf (and some zip and pdfs download correctly)... and these are larger/smaller than the ones in question.
and i can open them directly on the server

to check file association, try this page http://support.microsoft.com/kb/307859 shoudl be the same in xp and vista

also..when you click on the link to get the pdf file, what is the extension of the file? i ask because when u say "i receive filename (test_zipmemberfldrID=97csF=) type html document" to me this means that there isnt a pdf extension on it and as u are opening it from a web page it will more than likly try and open it as a html document.

hope that helps?

most pdf files work - and they all have a .pdf file extension
most zip files work - and they all have a .zip file extension on them.
those that don't work act like htm files - and they time out.
if i rename the file and reupload, it still doesn't work.
if i take some of the items out of the zip file and upload - it may or maynot work.
:-)

Maybe you could provide a few links - some that work, some that don't, it'll help with debugging
