My web hotel is using MySQL (exclusively) - but the db I just downloaded ('snitz_forums_2000') is labeled 'Microsoft Access-program'.
Not a very bright question - but...what do I do??  |

Indeed - but I surmise you are hinting that I didn't read it properly?
It is this NOTE I feel uncertain about :
"Access databases can only be used on a Windows Server. You will need to use a MySQL or MS SQL database if you are on a Unix Server."
- but after rereading I suppose the solution is to 'uncomment' the appropriate connection string!(?) |

| Thanks - however, the web server shows the whereami.asp 'raw'; I suppose that means the server isn't properly configured for asp? |

The reason I chose Snitz was that I used it some years ago for a different user clientele - I still have the db (on another web server); would it be feasible to establish a new forum on same db (the original forum is no longer in use)??  |

- well, I'm getting (a little) confused now!: As I wrote, the 'defunct' Snitz was running on another web server - but I just had a quick glance at it, and to my surprise it appeared to be Unix based, as well!?
