Hi!
I have just taken over an intranet site which uses Snitz forum. The problem I am having is we have not been left any usernames or passwords. Currently the way the site is setup is you use your Win2k login details so the forum automatically recognises who you are. Just now I am only classed as a general user. Is there a way to give me super admin controls over the entire forum?

Thanks,
O.

You would need to have one of the Admins elevate you to Admin status; or if you have access to the database, set your M_LEVEL to 3 in the database.

After doing one of the above, in config.asp you'll find a line that looks something like this:
Const intAdminMemberID = 1

Change the number to your member ID.

That should be everything needed to change your account to the super admin account.

Thanks for this!

I have made the changes but now it seems I can't access the forum at all. It doesnt load. The IE icon in the top right hand corner is just spinning, as if its trying to do something but not.

If I change my M_Level back to 1 I can access the site again. Any ideas?

Just noticed, with my level set to 3 I can still access the Admin Section but when I click on the All Forums link at the top of the screen it just hangs again.

You may want to clear your cookies. I doubt its the problem, but it doesn't hurt to eliminate the simple stuff.
