Are you talking OLAP or normal RDBMS ?

Either way, I think you're posting in the wrong forum.<

I'm not so sure about that but the question and solution for Calculation of the size of last extent is as follows:

Question:
Calculate, showing your working in detail, the size of the 3rd and 5th extent where INITIAL = 100 KB, NEXT = 200 KB, PCTINCREASE = 20.

Solution:
Size = NEXT * [ 1 + ( PCTINCREASE/100)](n-2)

Size of 3rd extent
= 200*(1+0.2)
= 240 KB

Size of 5th extent
= 200*(1+0.2)3
= 345.6 KB

From the above, I hope you can figure out whether my doubts is related to OLAP or normal RDBMS. Thanks.<

Sounds like more RDBMS like I thought, but the term "segment" also has a definition in the new OLAP 9i/10g world.

So, you're talking normal RDBMS and I can't help you at all in relation to that, but your maths seems fine ...

1.100 (initial)
2.200 (next)
3.240 (#2 + 20%)
4.288 (#3 + 20%)
5.345.6 (#4 + 20%)

This is just what I calculated based on the formula you provided.

The above formula that I have provided is for calculation of the size of the last extent. Is there actually a formula for calculating the size of the last segment?<
