Hey gang,

I went to email a member fromtheir profile and got this error

Server object error 'ASP 0177 : 800401f3'

Server.CreateObject Failed

/seforums/inc_mail.asp, line 129

Invalid class string

any help greatly appreciated

Hi, I'm also new to this forum and I just installed it last week and after two days of figuring out how to install, I was still getting error messages. I rebooted the PC and all went fine. It might sound stupid but give it a try. If it still doesn't work, then maybe someone has a brighter idea.

Generally the error you're getting means you have configured an email component in the admin setup but it isn't installed on your server. Richard Kinser provided a nice script which identifies installed email components but I don't have the link handy. Do a search on these forums and you'll find a link.
