Not sure if this is by design:
Here's the testing parameters:
There are three forum members:
Admin (Forum Admin) TestDummy (Moderator) Username (Forum Member)
Admin Section/Forum Features:
Private Forums: On Allow Topic Moderation: On Restrict Moderators to moving their own topics: Off
There are two forums with these setups:
Forum A Moderators: (none selected) Forum Type: Allowed Members List Allowed Member List: (none selected)
Forum B Moderators: TestDummy Forum Type: All Visitors
Here's the scenario:
When I am logged in as the moderator TestDummy, I can move Username's post from Forum B to Forum A without any restrictions, but when the screen refreshes after the post is moved, I am denied access just like I am denied access when I click on the forum link from default.asp .
That seems like this is a conflict of interests. In post.asp, if I as the moderator TestDummy am restricted access from posting in Forum A because I am neither a moderator there nor an allowed member, then the forum should not be offered as an option to me for a destination to move a topic. Also, post_info.asp shouldn't allow the transaction to happen.
Also, I can create my own topic post in Forum B, and then move my own post over to Forum A.
I'm not sure if this has been addressed already or if it is normal. < |
