Found and used this the LITE version of this product:
http://sqlmanager.net/products/mssql/manager/

The freeware LITE version is nearer the bottom of the page called "SQL Manager 2005 Lite for SQL Server"

I was able to download, install, connect to the SQL database and delete an errogeneous Null field all within about 45-minutes.
(Which is faster than a speeding bullet for someone who can't tell a database from a toaster.)

You may also want to look at SQL Server 2005 Express Edition with Advanced Series which is Microsoft's Lite free version of SQL Server 2005. Some things in it are not as easy to set up as SQL Server 2005, but you can find your way around eventually.

Here's the link to that download:

http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/express/bb410792.aspx

Here's a link to tutorials from Microsoft that will help you get used to SQL Server 2005 terminology:

http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/express/aa718391.aspx#13

In those tutorials, you may want to use the database examples. The location for them has moved, and the 2008 advertureworks.msi package won't work with the 2005 Express edition of SQL Server. To get the correct .msi package look for (AdventureWorksDB.msi) here:

If you feel your learning curve is skyrocketing and you can't get enough information to bring you back to earth again, then this page might give you a boost to keep on going up:

Have fun with it!

or, if you like to have it online together with the Forum (for example) Table Editor from 2enetworx is one way to go.

I found SQL Server 2005 Express about as intuitive as an elephant.
In fact, I had it installed and could not make it work.

Free is good.
Free and intuitive is better.

You don't have to do anything to make it work, it just works, however you need to install the "Management Studio" if you want to create/edit databases etc

After a couple of bumps and a couple of "Duh" moments, I got SQL 2005 Express up and running. I've known about the SQL Lite program for a while now, but opted for the Management Studio that MS gives out as IST will approve the latter and not the former. =/
