It's a server issue, even if related to a specific file. Have a look at the error message - where would you change a registry setting, if not on the server?
Resetting the server will correct it, even if only temporarily. If it happens again, you will need to change the registry, though I think that is not that likely. Either way, do as I said - talk to your host. Of course, you're always free to disregard the advice given, in this case or in any other case. It's your call.
