I downloaded the Email Random Password Mod (January 21, 2002), and in the readme.txt file it says to extract the dbs_email_password.asp file to the forum folder, What about those other files in the package, should they be uploaded to the forum folder too?
I am running Snitz version 3.3.03
Sorry for this stupid question, but I am a little new to this, hopefully I will be learning something new

If this is your first mod, then you can safely upload all the files and overwrite your existing ones. If this is not your first mod, then you will need to copy and paste the code from the mod files to your files. But only do this after you install the database fields first.

I have the Syndication Mod installed, do I guess that means I will have to edit the files manually? Is there anywhere I can find an explenation on what parts of the files to edit?

Every code that has been added to each file has been commented out clearly so I can find it. It will look something like this:
'#################### Email Random Password Mod ################## code goes here '#################################################################
You can always do a search for Email Random Password in each of the file to jump right to the line that you need to add to your file.

1. If you are on the Brinkster server, please do not overwrite your files. 2. The safest way to install the mod, is to copy the code into your files. 3. The code is commented out in each file so you don't have to search for the code differences. 4. Look for the comment '############ EMAIL RANDOM PASSWORD MOD ################# in each of the files. 5. make a BACKUP COPY of your original files. 6. Copy and paste the text into YOUR COPY of the same named files-where instructed. 7. Upload OR save your modified files where they were originally.
The above "7 STEPS" is a general correct way to install MOST mods here on the forum I believe.
8. Follow the rest of the instructions in the readme.txt file if you have any errors or problems, You can contact Davio, post here and/or re-copy your original (BACKUP) files back where they began.
Good Luck-looks like a pretty neat MOD Davio.
Davio actually made the readme.txt file pretty self explanatory-if you follow the instructions, you likely will not go wrong. If you do, it'll be human error on your part probably.
On another note DAVIO- I have a problem with a spammer, will this MOD work if I don't have cdonts working in anyway?

This mod needs to send an email address to the user who is signing up. Once you get your email options working on your forum, then it will work. It can't work if you have your email options not setup properly.
