Hello, I have just completed downloading the code from this site. I followed the UnZip file directions and I don't understant the rest.
I design my webpages from Microsoft Script Editor on Microsoft Word 2000. I know some html but perhaps this is over my head.
Everything is in one folder for my page. "myclub" folder for myclub.com
I put the unzipped info in a sub folder of "myclub" in a folder called "forums", and then the unzipped tools in a sub folder of "forums" in a folder called "tools".
I do not know where to go from there. I tried to understand the directions and I don't. I have hosting thru Server101.com if that matters.
I would greatly apprecitate any help received. I do this as a hobbie but people want a cool forum. So here I am.
Best Regards Heather

JerseyGal,
Does that provider support the use of ASP? that's going to be your first question.
After that we can work on things and figure out where to go if they do support it.

it has Personal CGI Bin, Java, Flash & Real Audio, Perl & PHP4 Support, PreInstalled CGI Scripts. I don't see ASP said directly. Not that I know how to use this stuff.
Are any of the above it? Can I get is somewhere or am I not able to use this? Thanks big9erfan

They are a UNIX/Linux host, so to support ASP, they would have to have Chili!Soft ASP installed. From looking at the plans they don't mention ASP at all. My guess is that they don't support ASP. |

they said they don't. they sent me this e-mail: Our servers are UNIX based so there is no native support for ASP. This service would require a NT server however it is well known in the industry that NT servers are unreliable and have poor uptime records needing to be rebooted every few days which is not acceptable in a hosting environment and would be detrimental to our customers reputation.
We provide PHP which is one of the best and easiest languages to pick up for dynamic generation of pages especially with database integration. We also have a great, user friendly, web based database management interface available for you to use in our contol panel which will help you manage your Mysql database.
