One minute, the Forum works fine, a cuople of hours later, getting the HTTP 500 error when acessing default.asp . Begining to think this may be releated to the server as I have another ASP type program running a classifieds database that seems to go down as well. Any specifics on what I need to make my provider aware of?

HTTP 500 error can mean any number of things.

If you have IE5x, open Tools-Internet Options-Advanced and uncheck 'show friendly HTTP errors' and post the new description of your error.

[Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] Cannot open database '(unknown)'. It may not be a database that your application recognizes, or the file may be corrupt.

/classifieds2/Inc_Conn.asp, line 19

The other error I am getting on a similar prgram.

Both were working fine less than 3 hours ago! Go figure. FYI, host is Datapipe. Any comments?

Fox,

Called my Host and had him restart IIS for my domain. Problem went away! ASP can be a good thing but it is extremely touchy if you know what I mean! Good luck!

It could be a server issue if they are making you use a dns for the path. I kept getting this and then I used the whereami.asp script and got the path. I would guess that it is a path problem. They might have moved you to a diffrent server or drive and now you path has changed.

Hope I help some what.

Jamie

If you have IE, go to the Tools - Internet Options - Advanced and uncheck the 'show friendly HTTP errors'. You'll get some more detail about the error you are experiencing.
