| Want to Build MOD's? |

You're welcome to contribute to the collection of mods that have
been build for Snitz Forums 2000 already! First it is best to take a look in the
MOD
Add-On Forum (W/Code) forum, to see if someone else isn't already
building it. Once you are ready to release the MOD for beta-testing by
other users you can post a link for the download zip-file, a demo at
your site etc. in the MOD
Add-On Forum (W/Code).
Once it is stable, you can have it added to the Archives here, we can
then also store the zip-file here on the site.
Some things to remember when building a MOD:
-
Add new files and images in a single zip-file
-
Add a README.TXT in the zip-file with:
1) Name of the MOD
2) Version of the MOD
3) Version(s) of Snitz Forums 2000 the MOD has been tested on
4) Database(s) the MOD has been tested on
5) Name of the Author
6) E-mail of the Author (optional)
7) Download URL for the MOD
8) URL to a demo site for the MOD (optional)
9) Instructions on how to install the mod, what existing pages to change
etc. Include line numbers if possible and/or display changed code so the
correct spot can be found even if the line numbers to exactly match
-
Post it in the MOD
Add-On Forum (W/Code) first for bug-checking.
Use the info in the README.TXT to start a new topic there.
-
Try to use the MOD Commander and MOD DB Setup scripts if possible
when creating your mod, this might make your live much easier in the
end.
Also make sure you have the correct error-handling, security checks
in case of Admin only scripts etc.
Best advise: make it look like the original forum code as much as
possible.
-
If the MOD is stable, i.e. after you didn't
get new bug reports for a week or so, you can mail
us and the MOD will be published in the MOD Completed Add-On
Forum and the Archive here at the site.
